Yoga.lk — Sri Lanka Yoga Registry
ABOUT YOGA.LK

A professional registry for the Yoga community of Sri Lanka.

Yoga.lk is designed to provide a clear, structured and accessible framework for recognizing Yoga teachers, Yoga schools and continuing education providers while supporting quality, transparency and responsible professional development.

THE YOGA.LK REGISTRY Register.
Verify.
Grow.

A public-facing registry built around professional credentials, school standards and continuing education.

WHAT IS YOGA.LK?

Creating clarity and confidence in Yoga education.

Yoga.lk brings teachers, schools and continuing education providers into one searchable registry. The platform is intended to make professional credentials easier to understand, easier to verify and easier for the public to discover.

Rather than defining one single style of Yoga, Yoga.lk provides a framework for professional registration and education standards that can accommodate different traditions, teaching approaches and areas of specialization.

OUR PURPOSE

Built around trust, quality and accessibility.

Yoga.lk is intended to serve practitioners, educators, schools and the wider public through a transparent registry framework.

01

Professional Recognition

Provide a structured way for qualified Yoga teachers, schools and continuing education providers to present their credentials and professional standing.

02

Public Verification

Make registration status and credential information easier for students, organizations and the public to discover and verify.

03

Education Standards

Establish progressive standards for RYS-SL 200, 300, 500 and 700 programs while allowing schools room to express their own educational identity.

04

Continuing Development

Support ongoing learning through the CEP-SL framework and a public library of continuing education opportunities.

OUR VISION

A stronger, more transparent Yoga education ecosystem in Sri Lanka.

We envision a Yoga community where professional credentials are understandable, educational standards are clearly communicated, and students can make informed decisions about teachers, schools and continuing education.

“Quality should be visible. Credentials should be verifiable. Education should continue.”
THE REGISTRY

Three pathways. One professional framework.

Each registration category serves a different part of the Yoga education ecosystem.

OUR STANDARDS

Progressive standards, not one-size-fits-all Yoga.

RYS-SL standards are designed as a progressive framework. Higher levels build upon the educational foundation of the level before them, allowing schools to develop deeper professional and advanced training pathways.

ROOTED IN SRI LANKA

Respecting Yoga while encouraging local knowledge.

Yoga.lk recognizes the value of Sri Lanka's own cultural and traditional knowledge. Schools are encouraged, where appropriate and within lawful professional boundaries, to introduce students to educational aspects of Ayurveda, Siddha medicine and Sinhala indigenous/traditional medicine.

These subjects can help students understand the historical, cultural and wellness context of the region while maintaining a clear distinction between Yoga education and regulated medical practice.

TRANSPARENCY & RESPONSIBILITY

Professional registration comes with responsibility.

  • Registration status should be clear and verifiable.
  • Credentials should be supported by appropriate documentation.
  • Registered members are expected to maintain professional conduct.
  • Renewal and expiry information should remain current.
  • Schools should represent their programs accurately.
  • Yoga education should respect applicable Sri Lankan laws and professional scopes.
